David Essex sparkling new musical all the fun of the fair opened at the Garrick Theatre in London on April 18. With the man himself the execution of some of his greatest hits, this hot new music promises a real treat for fans. The story is inspired by David Essex album, and tells the story of an owner of amusement park widower and his rebellious son. Tickets are on sale now and selling fast!
Sweet Charity
Having been a sell-out hit in London Menier Chocolate Factory last year, the West End transfer of Sweet Charity is sure to be a great success at the Theatre Royal Haymarket when it opens April 23. With Tamzin Outhwaite plays the title role, this feeling of well-London musical is packed with classic hits like Hey Big Spender. Based on the book by Neil Simon, the musical follows the romantic misadventures Valentine gullible Charity Hope, who always gives his heart to the right person.
The Fabulous Flutterby
A fantastic musical puppet show will be brought to life the famous Little Angel Theatre in north London from 1 May The Flutterby Fabulous follows the adventures of two hungry caterpillars in their search for their friend, many fascinating creatures along the way meeting. The music and lyrics are composed by jazz legend Barb Jungr, to accompanying adults are provided treatment as the kids!
The Fantasticks
A brand new production of classic musical is coming to London. The Fantasticks opened in New York in 1960, and with an incredible 42 years is the longest running musical in history. Featuring music by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt, this beloved musical is loosely based on the game novelists, but also draws influence from Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Into the Woods
Magical London's Open Air Theatre in Regent's Park will host a musical story of 5 August. Into the Woods takes some of the Brothers Grimm folk tales as Red Riding Hood and Cinderella and gives them a touch dark and humorous. With music by Stephen Sondheim Sweeney Todd glory and co-directed by Timothy Shead and Liam Steel, which promises to be a great version of a classic Broadway.
Flashdance: The Musical
September sees the long awaited opening of one of the most attractive musicals in London this year. With choreography by the renowned Arlene Phillips, Flashdance: The Musical will feature some of the most memorable hits of the 80s, plus 10 new songs created specifically for the musical.
