Marketplace | Steven Strait 10,000 BC Making progress in history Lately, there have been very few examples of historical novels in the film industry that go beyond 200 years. Not much history is explored in films, and certainly not the action genre. However, this could soon change.
Director Roland Emmerich, the director who brought us Godzilla movies, The Patriot, The Day After Tomorrow, Stargate, Universal Soldier and Independence Day, we bring a vision of life in prehistoric times, with the action film New 10,000 BC Prehistoric
The film will star Steven Strait, perhaps best known for playing Warren Peace in the superhero movie Sky High Disney as DLeh, which is the German word "Held, meaning that the hero back. The film will also stars Camilla Belle as Evolet, the love interest DLeh.
According to the film's official synopsis: 21-year-old mammoth hunter D'Leh (Steven Strait), a member of a tribe living in hunter-gatherers 10,000 BC (at the end of the period of the late Upper Paleolithic), travels through unknown lands on a quest to save his people from extinction. Head of an army, D'Leh discovers a lost civilization while in pursuit of a warlord who kidnapped his love, Evolet (Camilla Belle). D'Leh and his army of cats encounter saber-toothed, mammoths and other prehistoric creatures in the journey to save his tribe.
Roland Emmerich's decision to cast lesser-known actors and actresses in the film has contributed to keeping the film's budget reasonable. The decision was taken to help keep the public focused on history rather than actors. He said he believed the public would look at the players and then if something important was happening, they would focus on the back just to say this?.
This could be a very wise decision on his part because not too many successful movies were produced in the genre that the film is Emmerich. There was little attempt to make action movies prehistoric, especially one of this magnitude.
The film will have great battles reminiscent climate (unintentionally, it should be noted) some images of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and some excerpts have even helped to revive interest in the genre, reaffirming that several 'Some wonder there are still left in the world, even if it comes only from our past. 10,000 BC is expected to roar into theaters March 7.
