Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin or John Cena who is the most important wrestler in history? I will make a case for each.
Hulk Hogan: the most recognizable wrestler in history. Would the WWE have become as popular in the 80s without him? Would the WWE still there today? Not only that, but he revolutionized the fight by forming the nWo and taking WCW to new heights. Is he the most important wrestler in history?
Steve Austin: Without Austin, the WWE had survived when WCW was breathing on their necks? Although the nWo opened the door in the mid 90s it was Austin who launched it in, breaking sales of goods for the control files (or surpassed by Hogan or Cena) worldwide while ushering Attitude era.
John Cena: motor freight more important today. Love him or hate without him the WWE might really struggle to get mainstream exposure. Every time he fights the public reaction is undeniable. In time, there will be more and when his career is over (he is only 30 so he can have decades to do!) How it go down as the best ever?
Hogan, also of the theaters Fight off dirty and full of men smoking and drinking blood and barking is fun.
Cena is a reference, will never be.
I think Hulk Hogan is the best ever for defeting Andre the Giant Flag
Hulk Hogan Flag
Why is Cena in the list ??????
In any case I think it's the ROCK! Flag
Hogan and far. One reason, the charisma. Without him coming on the scene in the 80s, there would be no interest or interest in the sport through.
I too say Hulk Hogan too! When I used too watching wrestling with my grandmother in the 80s when Hulk was not there, I most likely would never have looked.
On this list, Hogan. You are deluding yourself with comments Cena, Matt. Yes, negative reaction is undeniable. Wrestling in general is nothing now compared to what it was during the Hogan and Austin periods.
"There is a difference between wrestling and WWE.
Okay. There is nobody in the American Wrestling more influence than Gorgeous George.
No John Cena, if you say rock john cena how the ABT? Or even Goldberg
Hulk Hogan? Rick flair, Bret Hart, the undertaker final all the more .... important, not only
Hulk Hogan, by far. He did what is now the struggle. I'd put Ric Flair before Steve Austin, Rock or Cena. He was one of the greatest of all time and Steamboat, Lawler, just to name a few.
What about Ric Flair? His contribution to the World Wrestling is big enough for all that is.
As much as I despise Hogan, it is most important. I know that the WWE would not have survived with Austin, but there are other things to consider.
I live in the South and before Hulk Hogan came down here no one even cared about the WWF. Some do not even know it existed. At that time, was the struggle between regional and NWA and AWAs. Hogan to the WWF on the map. With Hogan may not have had Cold Stone to watch.
Just my opinion.
There is a difference between wrestling and WWE. I could not choose one of three, but if I choose, I would say Hogan.
They all.
