Siobhan Fahey

Siobhan FaheyHave you heard of Shakespear's Sister? Do they still play music?

They had an album released in London in 1982. Siobhan Fahey & Marcella Detroit were the singers. What other groups have done with and / or they are doing now?

Comprised of Siobhan Fahey and Marcella Detroit (born Marcy Levy), Shakespear's Sister formed in late 1988. Fahey several hits as a member of Bananarama, and Levy was the backup vocalist for Eric Clapton in the late 70s. After their first single flop, Shakespear's Sister's second single, You're History, it is in the Top Ten. Sacred Heart, the 1989 debut, also made the Top Ten. Please Most documents on the Sacred Heart and Hormonally 1991 Follow-up was written with producer Richard Feldman, who gave the band a polished, synth-load R & B feel, like the Eurythmics. Here, the first single from Hormonally Yours, was a Top Five hit on both sides of the Atlantic single track, I Do not Care, cracked the UK Top 20, yet managed to make the Top 40 U.S.. Despite their success, the duo broke up the following year.

Although not necessarily a household name to most music fans, Marcella Detroit's career has been diverse and highlighted by success as a solo artist, one half of Shakespear's Sister, and performing, live and sessions, and writing with some of the biggest names in rock and pop. Marcy Levy Born on June 21, 1959, in Detroit, MI, she would soon become the city of his birth as his stage name. first stop in Detroit was the scene with another native of his hometown, Bob Seger, in the early 70s. It became part of the band Eric Clapton in the mid 70s, touring with him as a chorister and appearing on albums such as Slowhand and Backless. Detroit also wrote with Clapton, including Lay Down Sally, who has reached number three and sold one million copies in 1978. She left the group Clapton to pursue a solo career, even if it appears with him at Live Aid in the summer of 1985, and moved to Los Angeles. Meanwhile, she wrote songs for artists such as Chaka Kahn, Al Jarreau, and Philip Bailey, and continue working as a session singer for, among others, Aretha Franklin, George Duke, and Bette Midler.

In late 1988, the United with Siobhan Fahey (formerly of Bananarama) to form Shakespear's Sister. In 1989, the duo's second single, "You're History," became a Top Ten hit in the United Kingdom, and the Sacred Heart, the debut album from which it was taken. Yours, 1992 Hormonally followed was even more successful, with the single lead, Moody, melodramatic song "Stay," became a massive success worldwide, on top of the charts in the United Kingdom and climbing into the top five in the U.S. Despite United mapping four other tracks Hormonally Yours in the United Kingdom, including the Top Ten "I Do not Care", split Shakespear's Sister in 1993, and Detroit has pursued a solo career. She duet with Elton John on base "is not nothing like the Real Thing" for his duets together (the song also appears on his first solo album, Jewel, the following year). Although Jewel will not fail to have the commercial success of its Working with Shakespeare's Sister, Detroit continued to be active in the rest of the decade, releasing Feeler in 1996 and Songs AbFab three years later. In 2001, Detroit is back with Dancing Madly Sideways.

In 1995, following the success of Hormonally Yours, Siobhan Fahey continued to record the third trilogy of Shakespear's Sister - the sexy, glamorous influenced # 3. The first single, I was driving a top 30 UK hit. One track features vocals by Billy McKenzie (deceased) of The Associates. The album was mainly produced by David Stewart and two pieces by Alan Moulder and Flood. Curiously, if the album was scheduled for rel.
