Rani Mukherjee

Rani Mukherjee is a real Rani (Queen) of Bollywood. She is a daughter born on March 21, 1978 Bengali in Calcutta, West Bengal. Making his acting debut with Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat (1996), Rani has her first commercial success with Karan Johar's romantic film "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" (1998), his biggest success to date and Best actress won a Filmfare Award for his performance in the film. In 2004, Rani performance in the hit "Hum Tum and the critically acclaimed" Yuva "earned her the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress prize at the Filmfare, making her the first actress to win two awards major of the year. Her brother Raja Mukherjee is a film producer, now turned director. Her maternal aunt, Debashree Roy, is a national award winning Bengali film actress.

Rani Mukherjee is an Odissi dancer, and began learning to dance in the tenth year. Rani studied at Maneckji Cooper High School in Juhu, and later enrolled in Mithibai College in Mumbai.

Rani Mukerji changed the English transliteration of her surname from Mukherjee to Mukerji several years years. At the time, it was reported that she has done for numerological reasons. In 2006, Rani said that numerology is not a concern, his name had been made Mukerji on her passport, and she wanted to be consistent.
