Johnny UnitasIndianapolis Colts Tickets - Manning surpasses Unitas in wins

Johnny Unitas, but he never played for the Colts, after moving to Indianapolis from Baltimore, is perhaps the most famous player to ever wear this glorious blue and white Colts jersey. Illustrated No. 19 on the chest, Johnny U. become the most respected one-quarter of the Colts history and perhaps even the most popular player ever after his stint with the Baltimore Colts in the 1950s and '60s, but now he is being challenged by another quarterback Star - Peyton Manning. As successor Unitas, Manning has done an incredible job at Picking up where the Colts left Baltimore Megastar, and an incredible game that was Week 2 action this year between the Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins, Peyton Manning has proven that his name is worthy of mention alongside Unitas.

On Sept. 21, 2009 the day when the Colts beat the Dolphins 27-23 in one of the most intense games this season, Peyton Manning is the newest franchise record holder for most career wins with Colts, announces its 119th victory at Indianapolis and exceeding the record level Unitas' 118. Victory No. 119 for Manning and the Colts was a hard-fought battle, and victory was not the only record that Peyton Manning all night. In the game 60 minutes against Miami, the Colts' offense managed to outscore Dolphins after having the ball for 14 minutes and 53 seconds - the fastest time of ownership of more than a match for a professional football team out with a victory. Manning was calm and collected as his offense quickly took the field for every offensive series, running for 303 yards and two touchdowns in minutes - taking care of many business in Miami with the help of Dallas Clark and Reggie Pierre Garcon Wayne at the receiving end.

Although the Colts-Dolphins game was a memorable moment because of strong competition and down-to-wire action, it will undoubtedly remind Indy because of Peyton Manning and his new record in history franchise. Asked about new records Unitas, Manning was humble, as always, saying: "I never felt comfortable with such comparisons to Johnny Unitas. I am very proud to wear the same uniform as him. It was very nice to me the time I was around him. Johnny Unitas was a winner. "Manning also open on this record means to him, saying:" I've never seen [Unitas] play, but my father told me a lot about him and what he meant to the city of Baltimore and what it meant to the NFL. It is very humbling to be mentioned in some of these classes and individual files, but it is a team record. There are many people that were part of those victories. Many great coaches and many great players. It's a very humbling realization.

Peyton Manning might be the new icon in Colts history (especially in Indy, that Unitas cut all ties with the team after moving from Baltimore), but there is still some way to clear Johnny U. dashboard. Unitas holds the league record for most consecutive games with a touchdown pass, 47 to nail a row in 1960. The record has not been touched by a player so far, but maybe No. 18 is ready for the challenge.
