Johnny Carson

Johnny CarsonJohnny Carson??

I grew up with Johnny in the end of the night, now, after almost 15 years, I see his reruns (half-hour segments) on PBS so. California It makes me laugh so hard, and I think the tears that is not there. I wonder if anyone else appreciated his humor, I mean within a generation younger than his life. Jay Leno is great, just like David Letterman and Conan O'Brien all so funny, but Johnny was the king, in my opinion, anyone disagree?

You know, when I was young, one of my fondest memories of my grandmother was staying in watching Carson. I was only 9 or whether she would remain watching, eating sour cream and onion Pringles, and to his word search. She has always shared the chips with me and asked my help to find the words. He was one of only a handful of times I shared with her!

Leno does not come close to Carson. Johnny was the best! Johny had the talent to be playing off the situation. Nobody does it better than him.

I grew up with him too. Remember the night that Johnny Dom DeLuise, Reynolds and Sammy Davis Jr. bert were there and they laughed uncontrolably and could not stop. I have the watch. it was Preformer and the best. Thnaks for the question.

It was perhaps the most intellectual of the late night guys, probably more than Dick Cavett, who has made something of a career of it. It was certainly much better than any of his contemporaries, and show people he worked with understood and respected.

It was also one of the best stand-up comedians ever, if I do not know how the matter has always been preserved.

If ever you can, if you can find a copy of the Playboy interview they had with him. Probably from the 1960s, and a classic.

I suspect someone who disagrees with you does not know anything about Carson and never seen him do what he did best. I do not think Leno, Letterman, O'Brien or anyone else on the circuit late night dare presume that be measured in any way, shape or form in the late, great, Carson.

Johnny was sweet, something none of these other hosts are even close to being. It being a host look effortless. It is sad that you raised this question because it raises the bitter sweet memories of past shows.

Oh Thanks fot the nice memories that rushed back. I could not agree with you, humor Carson was timeless and elegant. It is hard to believe all these years have passed.

There is a full interview with Carson available at Rolling Stone, took some time, I think, the late 70s. Classic. I think the title is Johnny Carson: The Rolling Stone interview or something like that rather banal. Essential.

Totally loved Johnny Carson, no one can ever match.

I have seen great development and has a special place in my heart for all the humor he brought to me to grow. granted these days were simpler than I was carefree
