Harry Morgan of M * A * S * H? Was that Harry Morgan played two different characters on the same show ever addressed? If yes, what was the explanation?
In his first episode, the 49th episode M * A * S * H, Harry Morgan played the general madness Bartford Hamilton Steele. It is a pretty funny! In fact, he won an Emmy for this performance.
They liked it so much, his performance is what landed him as Colonel Potter from the 4th season (73 episodes). M * A * S * H actually had a revolving door for some parts. If you look at the seasons consecutively, you often see people you've seen before, but not as their original characters:)

I did not know he did. But did you know him and Jack Webb were the cops on the original series Dragnet?
I do not even know he did ... good call!
It has never been addressed in the show, but they liked it so much that General hazelnut (General returned at dawn), which was brought back to play Col. Potter and he did a hell of a job in my opinion. :)
