Gerard Way

Gerard WayComics by famous people: JJ Abrams, Gerard Way and More

Comic creators are very cool, and if they deserve to be, are not necessarily known. However, there are a number of well known musicians, actors, writers and creators of television who love to read comics and have taken their love a step further and created their own cartoon. Partnerships with talented artists and publishing companies of comics like Marvel, DC and Dark Horse has created these stars the comic knockout that appeal to fans who did not even read comics.

Here are some of the association's most famous cartoon of events:

Umbrella Academy by Gerard Way
Gerard Way is the lead singer of My Chemical Romance, but I probably did not need to tell you that! What you may not know is that Gerard loves comics. He worked in a comic shop as a teenager, and once he achieved success with his band, his mind turned back to comics.
Umbrella Academy is an award-winning story based around a dissolved group of superheroes who come back together again after the death of their adoptive father. The group will meet and intends to pursue his dream of saving the world. The book won an Eisner (think Oscar for the cartoon) Best Limited Series.

Richard Donner Superman
Richard Donner is best known as the film's superhero cool at first, Superman back in the late 1970s. He also led Lethal Weapon and was one of the films more as a producer. In 2006, he collaborated with comics superstar Geoff Johns on Superman comics, Action Comics. The arc of history known as Superman Last Son brings the crowd favorite villain, General Zod, from the second Superman film.

Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk by Damon Lindelof Laurence
The co-creator of the TV series Lost wrote this long-awaited confrontation between Marvel's famous bad-goodguys Wolverine and the Hulk. The beginning is infamous because it represents the Hulk ripping Wolverine's body into two pieces. It is clear that these two have a score to settle.

Also take the time to read all the comics by Brad Meltzer is a writer who has crossed into comics and lost none of its power and impact. Try Identity Crisis, JLA Vol 1 or the next Buffy season 8 arc with Joss Whedon. Speaking of Joss, its season 8 of Buffy the Vampire cons is only available in comic book and is well worth checking out.

Comics are just another way of creating a story and the storytellers who have already made their mark in other formats, often have a significant impact when they bring their skills to comics.
