Fernwood 2Nite (or Fernwood 2Night) was a television comedy created by Norman Lear as a spin-off Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman. It was a parody talk show, hosted by Barth Gimble (Martin Mull) and Sidekick / announcer Jerry Hubbard (Fred Willard), with a stage band, Happy Kyne and Mirthmakers (with Frank De Vol as Dour ironically " Happy "Kyne, and Tommy Tedesco as one of the guitarists). Barth was the twin brother of Garth Gimble Mary Hartman. The show is aired on the fictional Fernwood 6.

Like Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, Fernwood 2Nite was set in the fictional town of Fernwood, Ohio. The satirical show Real Talk shows and the kind of fare one might expect locally produced, a small town, midwestern American television programming. well-known actors play characters that usually appear or artifice has been written for the celebrity to appear as themself.
