The 29-year-old midfielder from AC Milan Andrea Pirlo suffered a right thigh injury after his training with the team during the week and unfortunately he will miss the match against FC Zurich. The frankness of Milan is not sure how long Pirlo will be out of action, but they hope it will not be long.

Pirlo will continue with tests this week and await the results before announcing other statements. This situation is not good for the manager Carlo Ancelotti, who has Gatusso Gennaro, Filippo Inzaghi, Alessandro Nesta will incapacitate so because of injuries. AC Milan lost the first two games of the Serie A season and the future success of the team is still uncertain.

Internationally, Pirlo has accomplished many triumphs with his Italian national team. He was called to play for Italy at the Olympics Summer 2000 and again in 2004, winning the bronze medal. That same year, he participated in the Euro2004. In 2006, Pirlo played at the FIFA World Cup in Germany where he was a key player for Italy. He was named Man of Match three times during the tournament and helped the team win the World Cup Championship.

With all these achievements and experiences there is no doubt Pirlo is a great player and it is really important for AC Milan. His role is vital to the success of the team, especially after knowing that his teammates are out of combat.
