Stop and visit the Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center in Olde Mistick Village, a shopping center off the wall with picturesque shops. Get great advice. Beside the famous aquarium which has both indoor and outdoor exhibits and hands-on exploration of Mystic Seaport, which offers costumed interpreters and artisans depicting life in a 19th century seaport shipbuilding, take Route across the river and explore the houses on the waterfront. Not only are you offered views of Mystic Seaport crowded with hundreds of children roaming the ships, buildings and other exhibits, you also have the narrow streets of the waterfront you. Drive at a walking pace, admiring the houses of citizens. Each house has a plaque naming the owner of origin, occupation, and date of construction. There were carpenters, captains, sail makers, doctors, clergymen, merchants, tavern owners, mechanics, etc. It is a real treat, not only being away from the mob, but also see the houses of the 19th century, when these men and their families lived. From the exterior construction, size, architecture and landscaping surrounding these men were successful.


Leaving the quiet waterfront, visit the rest of the city, passing by Mystic Pizza, where the film was shot in 1988.
