(MONEY Magazine) - On June 16 and 17, the CEOs, government regulators and fund managers of over 100 companies, representing more than 10 billion dollars in assets under management, convened in New York for the Summit Annual SILVER second.

A lot had happened since the inaugural summit last MONEY June There was a war in Iraq, a historic tax reduction, regulatory changes, regulations, indictments and, more recently, a rebound in equity markets. Sort by the impact of these issues on the financial services industry and discuss what's next is the agenda of this gathering of government officials and businesses. (Saab Elaine)

The event began with an interview with the Secretary of Homeland Security, Tom Ridge, the author Steve Brill at the opening dinner of the Summit. Next morning, Bank of America Kenneth Lewis, CEO and CEO of Charles Schwab, David Pottruck discussed unresolved issues such as board independence and the excessive use of executive stock options. In a speech lunch, Treasury Secretary John Snow discussed his view that an imminent recovery would be powered by 23 million small businesses in the country. Sallie Krawcheck Smith Barney CEO, Ameritrade CEO Joseph Moglia and CEO Edward Zore Northwestern Mutual then turned to the rise of "the new class of investors." Next stop: "The New Enforcers, a group that included New York Attorney Eliot Spitzer General and the Securities and Exchange Commission Paul Berger.
