Sex is All That Matters? "What more could be said?" I asked, left with a feeling of content, after reading Joyce Garity of essay "Is Sex All That Matters?" Being able to identify with her on most issues view of the world we live in today, I felt some of the weight being lifted from my shoulders, relieved that I am not the only man in this world for the magazine and on television, with half-naked models posing for sexual exploits, as a brainwashing minds.
We are influenced by our society, culture and above all that we perceive. It is not a magazine, or television advertising billboard in Times Square, this is not to give or send a sexual message to the people. These ads are intended for viewers to believe in their dreams and promises that if you do not buy and wear a certain pair of jeans, you will not be sexy or, if you can buy and wear cologne or the scent of some, no man can ever you want, or even if you do not look thin and small, you will not have a social life because being thin is considered beautiful. In most American advertising, literally, a man and a woman running around chasing each other on a beach half naked love they kiss and kiss, which means "forget reality, Let's Make Love. Forget the fact that you might have a disease, and I have a great chance of getting pregnant. Forget it. " more people watch these ads, the more messages they believe these to be true. Forget all that love and passion of the question? Wrong! Today, statistics on people diagnosed with a sexually transmitted disease is high, and statistics on young adolescents become impregnated is high. And because of these teenagers to have children they are not able to take care of, there are millions of children in foster care right now, with no real place to call home .
In his essay, Joyce Garity, a social worker, all the hits on the topic "sex in the media" and highlights that the negative messages the world sends to our youth today. It refers to a girl in particular. Elaine came to live with it for a while. Disturbed and almost alone in the world, she was again pregnant with her second child, while her first child had been placed in a foster home. Asked by Garity why she has become pregnant again, she said she thought birth control and condoms to be romantic and embarrassing, you could not really be passionate sex and anxiety on contraceptive use at the same time. In other words, Elaine was just another person brainwashed, lost in a fantasy world where no negativity. forget reality!
How can we deprogram the damage was done by the media? We can start by self-education through self-help books. Thanks to self-educate ourselves, we gain the knowledge and knowledge is a transformation of how we think, act and feel. Let's start making our own conclusions about how we should live on the moral and righteous standards.
