Danielle De MetzWalleye Fly Fishing Master List

When you think about walleye fishing, fly fishing is probably one of the most tactical of your mind. However, you can use the lines of depreciation, banners, and some conventional techniques such as vertical shocks to walleye fishing fly work for you. Keep in mind, however, that fly tying is an art, and you'll have to learn each model one by one before practice flies. The first thing to do is learn the basics and build on this knowledge as you progress in your fishing for walleye.

There are several types of flies that can be used in fly fishing for walleye, including a wet fly, a caddis fly, a beetle, a nymph and a streamer. These are the basic types, and when you decide to dive into the art of fly fishing, you'll probably want to stick to these basic principles for a long time, getting them down before moving to another type of model (there are thousands of templates that you do not even want to think at this stage).

You'll need to know the appropriate sizes of flies to use before you start to compare them with typical baits and lures that are used for walleye. The equipment you'll need to start is very basic. You want to have a stranglehold inexpensive, but solid, a coil that runs smoothly, a set of hackle pliers, scissors and a punch. It is more important when creating your fishing gear to have quality materials that have a lot of them. However, when you become an expert at creating a fly to tie, you can use a cheap pen and still come out with a quality almost equal.

To begin, just brown and black feather and white grizzly. You may be able to find a package with a half neck and a brown half-grizzly together by companies such as Metz, saving you money and provide you with enough feathers for a starting point . Now it is time to really go shopping. Here are your other basic needs to start your project: deer, elk, and hair muskrat tail of a squirrel, a rabbit mask, a pair of turkey feathers, two packets of marabou feathers, one black, one Brown, a spool of black caterpillar with bright colors, two rolls of foil, a silver and a flat gold thread, lead wire, a cake of wax lining and standardization shank hooks in sizes 10-20, and long shank hooks in sizes 4-10.

With these items, you have everything you need to link the five basic models that you must first fly fishing.
