PC Magazine, Computer, world of PC anti-virus, computer magazines The publication was announced at Comdex in November 1982 and first appeared on newsstands in March 1983, staff originally consisted of people who left en masse PC Magazine after the publication was acquired by Ziff-Davis [2 ].
The magazine was founded by David Bunnell and Cheryl Woodard, and his first editor was Andrew Fluegelman.

[Edit] Controversy
In May 2007, McCracken, resigned abruptly in controversial circumstances. According to sources quoted in Wired magazine, McCracken quit abruptly because the new CEO of PC World, Colin Crawford, has tried to kill a story negative about Apple and Steve Jobs [4]. Crawford responded, calling the news of the resignation of McCracken "inaccurate". [5] CNET later that McCracken had told my colleagues that IDG "has pressure on him to avoid stories that were critical of major advertisers." [6] [7] On May 9, Crawford was transferred to another department and McCracken returned to PC World [8].
