Website Optimization by Andrew B King Who should read this book
This is a book to read if you want to take your knowledge of web site optimization above almost everyone there.
Website optimization is not a book for a novice Internet.
It is for web designers with the knowledge of how a website should be designed and who want to improve the speed of their site.
It is also marketing on the Web that are interested in finding ways to improve their conversion rate.
Finally, it is for the project and business managers who may not know all the ins and outs of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM), but are less familiar with the concepts and already understand their value .
I recommend you read this book if you:
- You already have a website,
- Working closely on one
- You have responsibilities or an interest in improving the results online
Website Optimization gives you information you can use.
The book is in two parts.
Part 1 - Optimizing Search Engine Marketing
The first part is "Search Engine Marketing Optimization. This explains how to increase the visibility of website and increase conversion rates.
King clearly explains the steps you need to improve the SEO. Much of SEO is using your keywords in the most efficient way.
King breaks SEO in 10 easy steps that can be displayed next to your computer as a task list for each page you create.
Pay Per Click
This section also includes two very descriptive and very useful chapters on Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising. It includes a wonderful case study showing the results of a small niche company in a competitive market that has changed their practices and PPC had an immediate improvement in 100% conversion. This conversion rate has increased to 600% a little later and finally stabilized at 500% compared to their conversion rate of departure.
These two chapters alone make Website Optimization valid for most readers.
Conversion Rate Optimization
The last part of the first section of the website covers Optimization Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO).
King lists the top ten factors of a site owner to know to maximize its conversion rate.
For a marketing expert, these 10 factors could be evident. But too often, several, or at least one of these factors are not or not fully considered,
For example, you should give the bulk of the content on your site the best placement on your website. Since players start scanning a page in the top left and bottom right corner consider to be the least important, the essential content should be in the top left.
Many readers have now involve the right side of a site to be associated with advertising, so it is better evidence or links to your products.
Again, for many readers, this chapter alone can dramatically increase conversion rates and is worth the cost of the work.
Part 2 - Web Performance Optimization
The second part of site optimization is about "Web Site Performance Optimization".
Web site performance is how to design your site in the early stages of providing content as quickly and efficiently as possible.
A page that takes 10 seconds to load one that your reader will. Readers will use their "back" button and go to your competitors if your pages load fast enough.
King includes a few tips to fight against it, such as using the best format for images and put your parts loading slower lower on your page and the first out of sight if p.
