Dream-NUMBER TWO
There is always a place that can boost morale Elliot: Duluth, Minnesota. After being diagnosed with leukemia when he was 2 ½ years, parents of Elliot brought him to Duluth Canal Park, near the shore of Lake Superior. Looking at the boats and bridges lifting has always been a respite from his debilitating chemotherapy.
Although Elliot and his family away, he never forgot those moments of happiness watching the ships and hear the sounds of car horns on the water. He said volunteers from the Make-A-Wish Foundation ® of Minnesota that his dearest wish was to drive one of these boats near his hometown of Duluth.
Angela King-Jones, Wish Coordinator for the chapter, called the mayor of Duluth to seek permission to grant like Elliot. The story immediately caught the imagination of the community. The mayor was happy to help, and the staff came up with creative ways to complete and strengthen the will of the boy. "The community really rallied around Elliot and his family," King-Jones. "The mayor granted special permission for Elliot to blow the horn at the drawbridge.
Elliot and his family boarded the boat trip Vista Star. Captain Chris, whom she knew from previous days, gave them a warm welcome. He and his crew the VIP treatment and Elliot gave him his own captain's hat. And Captain Elliot leaves horn calling for the lifting of the bridge. Under the supervision of the commander, piloted the ship Elliot after the bridge. Everyone celebrated with a pizza party on board the Vista Star.
Bring the Noise
In the massive airlift of lifting (one of the favorite attractions Elliot Sea), Elliot climbed into the control booth where Ryan Beamer bridge controller left to grow on the big black button as many times as they wanted. The explosions frightened the tourists, commuters and gulls from their daily routine. With each breath of the horn, Elliot's Got the smile even wider.
Many residents of Duluth already knew what was going on - the local media had written on his unus.
